Ondo NUJ gears up for 2025 Press Week with new committee

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has inaugurated a seven-member committee to coordinate activities for the 2025 Media/Press Week celebrations.

The committee is chaired by Banjo Egunjobi, with Jacob Akintunde serving as secretary. Other members include Adedotun Ajayi, Olufisoye Adenitan, Kunle Ajibogun, and Omoriola Hungbeji, while the State Secretary will represent the State Executive on the committee.

According to a statement issued by the union’s secretary, Olaoluwa Meshack, the Press Week is scheduled to hold between December 14 and 21, 2025.

Speaking during the inauguration at the NUJ Press Centre in Akure, the state chairman of the union, Prince Leke Adegbite, charged the committee and members to work towards hosting a successful celebration.

He said: “We must promote the interest of the Union to have a robust and memorable press week, this year.”

In his response, the committee chairman, Banjo Egunjobi, expressed appreciation to the leadership of the union for the confidence reposed in the members.

He said: “We thank the leadership of the Union for the opportunity given to the 7-member committee to serve, and we promise that the committee will do its best to have a very robust and memorable outing.”

The committee appealed for the support of the union’s leadership and members to ensure the programme surpasses expectations.
