Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has urged the people of Ogbagi-Akoko to continue to live in peace and harmony for the progress and development of their community.
Governor Aiyedatiwa made the appeal on Saturday at the 38th Ogbagi Day Celebration held in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Samson Akande, reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting inclusive development across the state.
He urged residents to remain law-abiding and supportive of government policies.
Akande said, “The Governor recognizes Ogbagi as an important community in Ondo State, which he holds in high regard. He wants the people to know that his administration understands their pains and concerns, particularly the deplorable condition of the federal road linking Ogbagi to Ikare, from Ado to Ikare.”
The Governor, through his representative further assured the people that several developmental projects are underway, promising that Ogbagi and its environs will benefit from them.
He also conveyed his warm greetings to the traditional ruler of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona, wishing him a happy celebration and many more years of peace and prosperity.
Earlier in his remarks, the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona, described the celebration as one of the most remarkable in the town’s history, urging residents to sustain peace and unity.
Oba Adetona said, “Today’s event has been truly glorious. I believe this is one of the best Ogbagi Day celebrations we have ever witnessed. This marks the 38th edition of Ogbagi Day, and this year’s celebration came with unique glamour. We must ensure that peace reigns because without peace, there can be no meaningful progress.”
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Forestry, Comrade Olorunfemi Chris, commended Aiyedatiwa for his efforts in advancing infrastructural development across the state.
Similarly, the Ajalosiolojauso of Ogbagi, Chief Olutope Adebambo, appealed to residents to cooperate with the monarch and work collectively for the continued growth and progress of the town.
