Army hails Aiyedatiwa’s swift action on security alert, seeks stronger ties with Information Ministry

The Nigerian Army has commended the Ondo State Government for its prompt response to a recent security alert over a suspected terrorist plot in parts of the state.

Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Major Njoka Irabor, gave the commendation during a visit to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, in his office in Akure. 

He said Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s quick action in convening an emergency security meeting and directing security agencies to be on high alert reflected his commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

Major Irabor lauded the government’s consistent support for the military and other security formations, recalling that the governor recently donated utility vehicles and operational equipment to enhance security operations across the state.

He said the synergy between the government and security agencies had significantly contributed to the peace enjoyed in Ondo State, pledging continued collaboration by the Nigerian Army to sustain the current stability.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, appreciated the army for its visit and unwavering dedication to protecting the state. He assured that the ministry would continue to work closely with the military and other security agencies through effective information management and public enlightenment.

Ajanaku urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security authorities, noting that timely intelligence from citizens plays a crucial role in crime prevention.

He reaffirmed Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to a safe and prosperous Ondo State, stressing that sustained peace requires collective vigilance, communication, and cooperation among all stakeholders.
