A former Zamfara State lawmaker, Hon. Anas Muhammad, popularly known as Dan Amanar Gusau, has denied any involvement in an alleged ₦58 million mining license fraud said to have occurred in the state.
Muhammad, in a statement issued in Gusau, described the report linking him to the purported collection of the money as “baseless, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to tarnish my reputation.”
He said he had no direct or indirect connection to the alleged fraud involving the collection of ₦58 million under the pretense of securing a mining license in Zamfara State.
He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, accountability, and due process in all his dealings, stressing that his activities in the mining sector had always followed legal and regulatory standards.
According to him, all his engagements related to mining operations in Zamfara have been conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, including environmental and mining regulations.
Muhammad urged the public to disregard the “malicious fabrications” being circulated, saying they were aimed at misleading the public and damaging his image.
He vowed to pursue legal action against those spreading false information about him, insisting that he would defend his integrity through lawful means.
The former lawmaker also reiterated his support for genuine and lawful mining operations that promote economic growth, create jobs, and ensure sustainable development in Zamfara State.
