Farmers in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State have received a major boost as the senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Jide Ipinsagba, distributed various agricultural inputs to enhance food production in the area.
The distribution, which took place at Ifon, the council headquarters, was held under the auspices of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM). Farmers drawn from the 12 wards of the local government went home with fertilisers, spraying machines, cutlasses, and hoes.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Senator Ipinsagba said the initiative was in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security and the need to ensure abundant agricultural produce across the country.
Represented by one of his legislative aides, Hon. Joseph Aladetimehin, the senator appealed to the beneficiaries to make proper use of the materials and not to sell them.
“I want to beg you not to put these materials for sale, make good use of them to reduce food shortage and improve on the farming activities.”
Senator Ipinsagba assured that the people of Ondo North would continue to benefit from more dividends of democracy as the nation advances under the present administration.
A political leader in Ose Local Government, Arole Dennis Alonge, commended Senator Ipinsagba for facilitating the agricultural support programme for agrarian communities, especially at a critical time when the country is focused on improving food production.
Alonge, a former chairman of Ose Local Government, said political leaders in the area were working collectively to attract more developmental projects.
A former member of the House of Representatives who represented Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Hon. Eni-Olorunda Omosule, also lauded the senator’s gesture and pledged continued support for his representation.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Musah Isah, Mayomi Duduode, Ojomo Rotimi, Eunice Idowu, Sammy Oloruwa, and Obadiah Bamikale, expressed gratitude to Senator Ipinsagba for the empowerment, promising to make judicious use of the farm inputs provided.
