United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to grooming Africa’s next generation of business leaders with the induction of 700 young professionals into its Graduate Management Accelerated Programme (GMAP).
The graduation ceremony, held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Landmark Events Centre, Lagos, drew participants from Nigeria and other African countries where the bank has operations.
UBA’s Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu, was joined by the Deputy Group Managing Director, Chukwuma Nweke, board members, top executives, and faculty members to welcome the new inductees into what he described as the “UBA Tribe.”
The GMAP, which began over three years ago, was designed to identify, train, and equip talented graduates with the knowledge and leadership skills required to drive the bank’s operations and the continent’s economic transformation.
The initiative, according to the bank, underscores its long-term vision of nurturing innovative and dynamic leaders capable of advancing Africa’s growth through financial inclusion and digital transformation.
