A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Odudu Ayodele Samuel, has strongly condemned comments made by Honourable Atere against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, describing them as “utterly unacceptable and regrettable.”
In a statement issued in Gedegede, Akoko, Hon. Odudu expressed displeasure over what he termed a “lack of respect and decorum” in Atere’s comments about the Governor, insisting that the occupant of the state’s highest office deserves utmost honour from all citizens, particularly elected officials.
He said the tone and language deployed by Honourable Atere were “unparliamentary” and demonstrated “a glaring lack of regard for the high office of the Governor,” which, according to him, should command respect and dignity from every indigene of Ondo State.
Hon. Odudu urged the lawmaker to exercise restraint and be “more mindful and circumspect” in his public utterances, especially when addressing matters concerning the state’s leadership.
“The Governor is working tirelessly and selflessly for the betterment of the people of Ondo State, and such unwarranted and unguarded comments can only serve to undermine his efforts and create unnecessary tension,” he stated.
He dissociated himself from Atere’s position, calling on residents of the state to show due respect to Governor Aiyedatiwa, whom he described as “a symbol of hope, unity, and progress.”
Hon. Odudu commended the Governor’s commitment to the state’s development and pledged his “unwavering support and loyalty” to his administration.
He urged all stakeholders and citizens to maintain decorum in public discourse and to work collectively toward building a peaceful, united, and prosperous Ondo State.
