Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally aligned with the African Democratic Congress, signalling a fresh political direction as activities build up toward the 2027 polls.
The former PDP stalwart confirmed his new affiliation in a post on X, where he released photos showing him receiving his ADC membership card along with a customised “Waziri 01” jersey.
His registration was conducted in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, where supporters, party executives and local leaders turned out to witness the occasion.
Images shared online captured Atiku raising his membership form while enthusiastic followers filmed the event.
“It’s official. – AA,” he wrote, ending weeks of speculation over his next political move following his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party earlier in the year.
