A quiet evening in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, took a tragic turn after a young woman was discovered dead in a popular hotel in the community.
The incident was uncovered late in the afternoon when hotel staff forced their way into the room after knocking repeatedly without receiving a response. The management, whose hotel name was withheld, said the discovery left workers and guests in shock.
The facility, situated along the ever-busy Ore–Okitipupa Road and frequently patronised by travellers, became the centre of attention as staff met the woman lying lifeless on the bed. There were no obvious marks of violence on her body.
A source at the hotel told our correspondent that the woman had arrived earlier with a man said to be one Sodiq Ganiyu. “The two were seen together when they checked in. But when workers later entered the room, the lady was found unresponsive,” the source said.
The man reportedly fled the premises immediately after the incident came to light, raising suspicions and leaving investigators with unanswered questions.
A security operative familiar with the case confirmed that the body has been taken to the Ore morgue for further examination. While preliminary checks showed no external injuries, authorities have ordered a full autopsy to determine what led to the woman’s death.
