Akure-born All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and popular security expert, Olufemi Meshe, has commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for presenting new vehicles to traditional rulers across the state.
Meshe, who spoke during the presentation ceremony, drew a connection between the roles of government and monarchs in enhancing the security of lives and property, describing the gesture as both timely and impactful.
He lauded the governor’s vision, saying it reflects a leadership approach that “touches virtually all facets of human endeavours.” According to him, “Look at the infrastructure upgrades through massive road construction, urban renewal initiatives as well as the development of the education, health, agriculture and other sectors. Now our traditional rulers are also again feeling the impact of good governance through the EASE mandate of the Aiyedatiwa administration.”
Meshe added that the vehicles would further boost the welfare of traditional rulers, whom he described as “the real grassroots leaders close to their people.” He said, “The truth is, these monarchs do a lot in ensuring peace, the hallmark of security in their various domains, which then translate to overall security of lives and property in the state.”
The APC stalwart described the move by Governor Aiyedatiwa as a “right step in the right direction,” noting that it underscores the administration’s recognition of the vital role traditional rulers play in community development and peacebuilding.
