By Our Reporter

The Akoko Youth Forum has elected Comrade Pius Kole as its new President after a peaceful and keenly contested election held at the weekend. Kole secured 54 votes to defeat his rival, Adurewa Vincent, who garnered 22 votes.

Delegates from the four local government areas of Akoko took part in the poll, which stakeholders described as one of the most orderly and transparent exercises conducted by the Forum in recent years.

The Electoral Chairman, Kazeem Mohammed, commended the delegates for their maturity and peaceful disposition throughout the process.

He said their conduct reflected a renewed commitment to unity and democratic ideals across Akoko land.

In his farewell address, the outgoing President, Akeju Blessing, described the election as “peaceful, transparent, and a model for youth organisations across the state.”

He congratulated the winner and urged the new leadership to sustain the progress recorded by the past administration.

In his acceptance remarks, President-elect Comrade Pius Kole expressed appreciation to the delegates for the trust vested in him.

He pledged to deliver on his campaign promises, strengthen youth engagement in community development, and reposition the Forum for greater relevance.
