A landlord, identified as Mr. Lucky Obaze, has been reportedly stabbed to death by his tenant in Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, following a disagreement over a N1,500 electricity bill.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, Mr. Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
Edafe, however, declined to disclose details of the circumstances surrounding the killing, noting that two suspects were involved and are currently on the run.
A source in the area said the incident occurred when the landlord went to demand payment for the electricity bill from the tenant, who occupies a one-room apartment in the compound with his brother.
According to the source, an argument broke out between the landlord and the tenant over the N1,500 charge.
It was further gathered that after the disagreement, the landlord returned to his upstairs apartment to rest.
The source added that the tenant allegedly later came back armed with a knife and stabbed the landlord, leading to his death.
