The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has shelved its governorship primary earlier slated for December 2 over the lingering leadership crisis at the national level.
The state Chairman, Sunday Bisi, disclosed this to reporters Monday, warning that Governor Ademola Adeleke may abandon his re-election bid on the party’s platform if the crisis persists.
Addressing journalists on Monday, Sunday Bisi, chairman of the PDP in Osun, said the party’s governorship primary scheduled for December 2 can no longer hold as planned.
He stressed that the governor’s participation in the primary remains uncertain unless the national leadership dispute is resolved in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines and timelines.
