The Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement has drawn over 2,000 members and supporters to its National Grassroots Mobilisation Summit held on Tuesday at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, where it unveiled a roadmap aimed at mobilising 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The summit brought together grassroots leaders, mobilisers and party faithful from across the country, with discussions centred on early strategy, coordination and mobilisation ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking at the event, Bala Usman, who represented Hon. Faisal Lawal, formally flagged off the nationwide grassroots mobilisation drive.
He said President Tinubu had taken tough but necessary economic decisions designed to reposition the country for long-term growth and stability.
According to him, the mobilisation effort is intended to help Nigerians at the grassroots better understand the reforms being implemented by the administration and why sustained public support remains crucial.
The Chairman of the Central Organising Committee and National Moderator of CAGrAM, Hon. Dr. Agbi Stephen Omobamidele, reaffirmed the movement’s endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term.
He said the President had shown clear commitment to economic recovery, improved security and wealth creation, adding that these efforts deserved continuity beyond 2027.
Dr. Agbi urged the movement’s more than 1.2 million registered members nationwide to adopt the “1 for 10” mobilisation strategy, explaining that if each member convinces at least ten voters, the collective target of 10 million votes would be achieved.
The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, also addressed the gathering, where he outlined practical approaches to grassroots mobilisation and stressed that nation-building requires the collective support of citizens.
He called on Nigerians to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the Tinubu administration had taken decisive steps to stabilise the economy.
The minister disclosed that the Federal Government had saved over 25 billion dollars following the removal of petrol and foreign exchange subsidies.
He explained that in the past, Nigeria spent about 10 billion dollars annually on fuel subsidy and 15 billion dollars on forex subsidy, while a significant portion of national revenue went into servicing debts.
He described the subsidy removal as a difficult but unavoidable decision that has helped place the economy on a more sustainable footing.
Also speaking, the National Director of Media of CAGrAM, Olufowobi Olarewaju Desmond, appealed to Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the President was laying the groundwork for a safer and more secure future, adding that the current economic challenges facing citizens were temporary and would ease as reforms take effect.
In his vote of thanks, the Organising Secretary of CAGrAM, Hon. Tope Sanya, commended members from the 36 states of the federation for their commitment and large turnout.
He also praised the Central Organising Committee for ensuring the success of the summit.
Hon. Sanya paid tribute to the Minister of Interior for championing the Renewed Hope Agenda and driving grassroots mobilisation nationwide.
In recognition of his contributions, the movement honoured Tunji-Ojo as its Grand Patron.
Party officials, grassroots mobilisers, youth and women leaders, as well as supporters from different parts of the country attended the summit, which organisers described as peaceful, well-coordinated and a major step towards structured grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
