Christmas: Sam Maris VC felicitates University community, reaffirms commitment to academic excellence

The Vice-Chancellor of Sam Maris University, Supare-Akoko, Ondo State, Professor Francis Gbore, has felicitated members of staff, students, and the entire university community on the occasion of Christmas, urging them to embrace the enduring values of love, peace, unity, and selflessness that define the season.

Professor Gbore made this known in a Christmas goodwill message issued to newsmen on Thursday, describing the celebration as a period of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to excellence in learning and character development.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the birth of Jesus Christ represents sacrifice, humility, and service to humanity; virtues which he noted are firmly aligned with the vision and mission of Sam Maris University.

“On behalf of Management of Sam Maris University, I warmly felicitate with our staff, students, and the entire university community on the joyous celebration of Christmas. This season calls on us to reflect on love, peace, and unity, values that are essential to our collective growth and progress,” he said.

Professor Gbore reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to sustain high academic standards and provide an enabling learning environment, stressing that the university remains steadfast in its mandate of producing well-rounded graduates equipped for leadership and global relevance.

“Our university remains committed to delivering quality education and moulding future leaders who will blaze trails and positively impact the world. We will continue to invest in academic excellence, character formation, and innovation to ensure our graduates are competitive and globally relevant,” he added.

The Vice-Chancellor also offered prayers for continued peace and progress within the university community and the nation at large. 

He encouraged staff and students to approach the New Year with renewed hope, dedication, and a strong sense of purpose.
