JUST IN: Man shoots friend to death in Ondo

A 29-year-old man lost his life after being shot by a friend over a land disagreement in Ayede, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident reportedly happened last week at around 2:30 p.m., The Hope Metro gathered. The victim, Daniel Olorunyomi, was attacked and shot during a heated argument concerning a land matter.

An eyewitness said the suspect confronted Olorunyomi while he was going about his daily activities. The disagreement escalated, and the suspect allegedly drew a firearm and shot him at close range before fleeing the scene.

Neighbors who heard the gunfire rushed to the location and found the victim lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Olorunyomi’s body has been deposited in the mortuary, and police have commenced investigations into the shooting.

The incident has sparked protests in the community, with residents demanding that the suspect be apprehended.

Residents described the deceased as a hardworking and peaceful individual, expressing shock and sadness over the violent attack that claimed his life.
