The Ondo State Government has directed the immediate and indefinite closure of St. Louis Primary School, located in Ondo town, Ondo West Local Government Area.
The order was issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, who said the decision was taken due to the school’s repeated failure to adhere to state regulations guiding private educational institutions.
According to the commissioner, the action followed sustained concerns over the school’s operations, which were found to be inconsistent with approved standards and procedures.
He explained that the shutdown formed part of the government’s broader effort to enforce compliance and ensure that private schools function within the legal framework established by the state.
Ajibefun stated that the school would remain closed until all identified violations are addressed and full compliance with government requirements is achieved.
Parents and guardians of pupils enrolled at the affected school were advised to observe the directive and make immediate alternative arrangements for their children.
The commissioner reiterated the state government’s determination to safeguard quality education and uphold regulatory standards across Ondo State.
