A neighbour of late Nollywood actress, Allwell Ademola, has given an account of the events that led to her death, revealing how efforts to save her proved abortive.
The neighbour, who spoke anonymously on the Talk2B podcast, said the incident began with a distress call from the actress, whose tone immediately raised alarm.
She said she quickly mobilised her husband, son and her daughter’s friend before rushing to Ademola’s apartment, where they met the door locked.
According to her, the actress initially could not open the door as she was struggling to breathe, but eventually did after repeated knocking, revealing she was in severe distress.
The neighbour said they first tried to stabilise her before realising the situation was critical and deciding to rush her to the hospital.
She explained that the heavy rain and Ademola’s inability to move her legs made it difficult to get her into a vehicle, forcing her to seek additional help from nearby streets.
Despite the challenges, the actress was eventually taken to the hospital, but unknown to them, she had died while on the way.
On arrival, medical personnel attempted to resuscitate her, but after several hours, the family was informed that she had passed on.
Ademola, 49, reportedly died in late December after suffering a heart attack at her residence. She was laid to rest in Lagos on January 9.
