The Ondo State chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASoW) has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his 61st birthday, describing his administration as people-focused and responsive to social needs.
In a statement jointly signed by the association’s Chairman, Mr. Fatogun Oluwole Joshua, and its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Kimikiyo Magi, NASoW praised the governor’s leadership since he assumed office on December 27, 2023.
The association said Aiyedatiwa’s government has recorded notable strides in social welfare and human development, citing the establishment of community-based mental health clinics across the three senatorial districts and the launch of the “Ondo Care” programme to support indigent families.
NASoW also commended the expansion of the state’s youth skills acquisition scheme to accommodate digital and vocational training, as well as reforms in the social welfare department aimed at improving service delivery.
According to the association, the introduction of the ORANGHIS informal sector health insurance scheme has further enhanced access to healthcare for vulnerable residents.
The social workers applauded the governor for recognising their role in governance, particularly through the approval of capacity-building grants and support for the ongoing review of the state’s social welfare policy in line with global standards.
NASoW expressed confidence that the Aiyedatiwa administration would deepen social protection initiatives and pledged continued collaboration with the government to advance social development in the state.
The association wished the governor good health, strength and wisdom as he marks his 61st birthday, praying for sustained peace, prosperity and social justice in Ondo State.
