A senatorial aspirant for Ondo North under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Afolabi Momoh Mogaji, has condemned the attack on Ipele community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Gunmen suspected to be bandits had on Wednesday night laid siege to the agrarian community after attacking the Divisional Police Station, causing panic among residents before security agencies intervened.
In a statement issued to newsmen on Friday, Mogaji described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable, stressing that criminal acts of such nature threaten peace and public safety.
He commended security operatives for their swift response to the incident and urged residents not to panic, assuring them that the situation had been brought under control.
The APC chieftain advised the people of Ipele and surrounding communities to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to track down the perpetrators.
Mogaji also called on youths in the area to remain law-abiding and vigilant, warning against actions that could worsen the security situation.
He expressed confidence in the ability of security agencies to restore lasting peace, pledging his support for initiatives aimed at strengthening security across Ondo North.
