Education, youth empowerment key to solving Akoko Northwest challenges - Odudu Ayodele

A House of Assembly aspirant for Akoko Northwest Constituency 1, Hon. Ayodele Samuel Odudu, popularly known as Manifold, has said that focused investment in education, youth empowerment, healthcare and security remains the lasting solution to the challenges confronting the constituency.

Odudu said the neglect of the education sector under the current representation had worsened conditions for students and public schools across the wards, stressing that rebuilding the system was crucial to securing the future of the younger generation.

He noted that his vision prioritises access to quality education and skills acquisition, describing education as the foundation for sustainable development and long-term prosperity in Akoko Northwest.

The aspirant also faulted what he described as “caucus-style empowerment,” arguing that youth empowerment in the constituency had been reduced to compensation for loyalists rather than a broad-based programme capable of lifting young people economically.

According to him, his proposed empowerment framework would focus on genuine capacity building, entrepreneurship and vocational opportunities tailored to the needs of youths in the area.

Odudu further lamented the poor state of healthcare facilities in the constituency, saying many health centres were dilapidated and poorly equipped, leaving residents exposed to avoidable health risks.

He alleged that rather than meaningful upgrades to health infrastructure, resources had been diverted to selected individuals, a practice he vowed to end if elected.

Raising concern over worsening insecurity, Odudu said residents could no longer move freely or sleep peacefully, promising a deliberate and community-driven approach to restoring safety and stability.

He called on constituents to support his agenda, saying collective action was needed to reposition Akoko Northwest Constituency 1 for inclusive growth, improved welfare and accountable representation.
