There are followers who are easily distracted by noise and crowd influence, spectators who watch others pursue their dreams without daring to chase theirs, and then there are movers and shakers—men and women driven by vision, courage, and purpose. Hon. Ade Adeogun belongs firmly to the last category.
A natural leader with a clear sense of direction, Adeogun has built a reputation as a man who not only understands his mission but pursues it with uncommon discipline and conviction. His record of service, particularly during the Ninth National Assembly, has positioned him as a strong contender in the ongoing political conversation around the Ondo North Senatorial District, where expectations and goodwill continue to trail his ambition.
Despite the growing field of aspirants for the senatorial seat, Adeogun’s acceptance among the people of Ondo North is rooted in qualities that have become synonymous with his name—humility, integrity, dignity, diligence, and clarity of purpose. These attributes have also given strength to his popular political identity, widely known as the “Beautiful Brand.”
Widely regarded as a man of insight and intellect, Hon. Ade Adeogun represents hope, aspiration, and promise. In public life, he is known as a prolific writer, youth mentor, advocate of good governance, and community leader. Privately, he is a philanthropist and accomplished technocrat with over four decades of experience spanning security services, counter-intelligence, waste management, business development, and policy formulation.
Popularly described as fearless and audacious, Adeogun has consistently stood against political rascality and impunity. His scholarly pedigree reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence, moral discipline, and intellectual rigor.
Born into the Olumomi family of Obaju Quarters, Oba-Akoko, in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Adeogun began his education at Z.I. Primary School, Oba-Akoko, and Borgu Primary School, New Bussa. He later attended Oludaye Grammar School, Oba-Akoko, before joining the Nigerian Security Organisation in 1983.
In pursuit of academic advancement, he gained admission to the University of Ibadan in 1985, graduating in 1989 with a Second Class Upper Division degree in Archaeology. His quest for knowledge later took him to the New York Merchant Marine Academy, United States, where he trained in Maritime Security Administration, and subsequently to the Manchester Business School, United Kingdom, where he earned a Master’s degree.
Returning to the State Security Service as a Cadet Officer, Adeogun’s intelligence, productivity, and professionalism saw him rise swiftly through the ranks. He served in several strategic roles, including Personal Assistant to the Rivers State Director of the SSS, Chief Security Officer to former Rivers State Governor, Chief Peter Odili, Principal Staff Officer (International) in Ondo State, and Training Manager at the State Security Academy, Lagos. He voluntarily exited the service in 2007 to focus on private enterprise.
Even before leaving public service, Adeogun had ventured into entrepreneurship. In 1994, he co-founded Sekurity Project Limited, serving as its pioneer Managing Director. His subsequent consultancy work with major multinational firms exposed him to high-level corporate governance and sharpened his business acumen, paving the way for greater ventures.
Today, he is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Magnum & Hunter Limited, a Lagos-based firm that evolved from consultancy into waste management, infrastructure development, and commercial real estate investment. He also sits on the boards of several companies, contributing expertise in leadership development, business planning, and change management.
Between 2007 and 2015, Adeogun served the Rivers State Government as Honorary Special Adviser to former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and later as Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency. Under his leadership, the agency was transformed from a moribund institution into one of the most efficient government parastatals in the state, employing over 2,000 workers.
He also played a pivotal role in the establishment of Nigeria’s first Command, Control, Communication, Computers, and Intelligence (C4i) Centre, which significantly enhanced inter-agency cooperation and security efficiency in Rivers State.
Beyond governance, Adeogun emerged as a unifying figure for non-indigene communities in Rivers State, advocating inclusiveness and equal opportunities. His quiet but firm political engagement contributed to the formation of the All Progressives Congress in 2013.
Driven by a passion for leadership development, he founded the Brentonwoods & Trinity Leadership Foundation, focusing on youth empowerment and civic enlightenment. In 2017, he further established the Ade Adeogun Foundation in Oba-Akoko, through which he has executed numerous community interventions, including classroom renovations, agricultural empowerment, borehole repairs, electrification projects, and welfare support for vulnerable individuals.
In 2019, Adeogun contested and won election into the House of Representatives, representing Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency. His tenure between 2019 and 2023 was marked by impactful interventions in infrastructure, education, security, erosion control, and community development.
He also addressed unemployment by facilitating job placements for over 120 youths across federal agencies and institutions, while providing scholarship opportunities and vocational empowerment for hundreds of young people through strategic partnerships.
Legislatively, Adeogun distinguished himself by sponsoring the highest number of bills among Ondo State representatives in the Ninth Assembly. He chaired the Ad hoc Committee on Recovered Assets and served in several key committees, giving his constituency a strong and influential voice at the national level.
Reflecting on his political philosophy, Adeogun once said, “I am not in politics to make money. I am here to serve with pride and integrity, guided by rules and principles.”
As preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, the people of Ondo North Senatorial District are presented with a familiar name, a tested leader, and a record of service—Hon. Ade Adeogun, the Beautiful Brand.
