'You've done well' - Akoko North West students applaud Esan Owolabi for reviving bursary with N2m grant

The Akoko North West Students’ Union Government has commended the Executive Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, Esan Owolabi, for approving a N2m bursary scheme to support students of the council area.

The union, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the intervention marked the return of structured financial assistance for students after years without a bursary programme in the local government.

ANSWUG noted that the initiative underscored the chairman’s commitment to promoting education and improving student welfare, particularly for indigent scholars facing financial hardship.

According to the union, the revival of the scheme followed sustained engagement between student leaders and the local government administration, adding that the support would ease the burden on beneficiaries and enable them to focus on their studies.

It expressed appreciation to the council boss for prioritising education and investing in the future of young people in the area.

The union also pledged continued advocacy and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to advance student development and empowerment across the local government.
