The election of Chief Solomon Areyenka as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State has continued to draw commendations from party stakeholders, with the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Dr. Hope George, describing his emergence as a major boost for the party.
Speaking with journalists in Asaba shortly after the announcement of the party’s new leadership, George said Areyenka’s emergence marked a significant moment for the APC in the state, describing him as a dependable and experienced political figure.
According to him, the new chairman has over the years demonstrated loyalty, discipline and a strong capacity for grassroots mobilisation, qualities he said make him well suited for the task of leading the party.
“Chief Solomon Areyenka is a blessing to the party. He is tested and trusted. He has paid his dues in the political space and has consistently shown commitment to the growth and unity of the party,” George said.
He added that the widespread reactions and celebrations that greeted Areyenka’s election across the state reflected the confidence party members and stakeholders have in his leadership.
George noted that the enthusiasm among party faithful indicated that the new chairman enjoys broad acceptance within the party structure.
The governor’s aide also commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for what he described as his commitment to fairness and inclusiveness in the political process.
He said the governor’s approach to governance had helped create a level playing field for political actors while strengthening democratic values in the state.
“I must commend His Excellency for providing a level playing ground for all political stakeholders. That is the hallmark of true leadership and it encourages healthy political engagement,” he said.
George expressed optimism that Areyenka’s wealth of experience in party administration and grassroots politics would help strengthen the APC’s structure across the state.
He added that the new chairman’s leadership would play a crucial role in mobilising members, fostering unity within the party and expanding its support base ahead of future elections.
He also congratulated members of the newly inaugurated state executive committee and urged them to work closely with the chairman to reposition the party for greater political success.
George expressed confidence that the APC in Delta State would witness renewed momentum and stronger internal cohesion under Areyenka’s leadership.
