The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State on Tuesday commenced its state congress in Akure, where new members of the State Executive Committee emerged through consensus.
The exercise, taking place at the The Dome International Event Centre, produced 36 officials to steer the affairs of the party for the next tenure.
A former member of the House of Representatives, Kolawole Babatunde, popularly known as Ameachi, was elected as the state chairman of the party.
Also elected was a veteran journalist from Ilaje, Alex Kalejaye, who emerged as the state secretary.
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and other prominent leaders of the party were present at the congress.
