The support group of a governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, Tijjani Ahmed Galadima, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that he had withdrawn from the 2027 race.
Galadima, an aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, is seeking to contest the state’s governorship election.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Director and Coordinator of the Tijjani Ahmed Galadima Support Groups, John Hamman, described the report as false and misleading.
He said the viral claim was aimed at undermining the growing support base of the aspirant across the state.
Hamman maintained that Galadima remained committed to his ambition, noting that there was no truth in the reports suggesting his withdrawal from the contest.
According to him, the aspirant’s resolve to contest the election was driven by what he described as a call to service and a desire to contribute to the development of the state.
He added that Galadima, who currently serves as Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, had continued to engage stakeholders and expand his political structures across the state.
The statement further noted that the aspirant’s supporters remained active at the grassroots, insisting that his campaign had continued to gain momentum ahead of the party primaries.
Hamman urged party members and residents to disregard the rumour, describing it as the handiwork of political opponents.
The denial comes amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State, with several aspirants already indicating interest in the race.
Efforts to obtain reactions from other aspirants and the state leadership of the APC were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
