A political group, the Democratic Leadership Alliance, on Thursday announced its emergence as a new party, pledging to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape through ideology-driven governance, economic reforms, and enhanced security.
In a statement issued by its National Chairman, Barr. Samuel Memeh, the group described itself as a movement founded on “clear ideological principles,” including Pan-Africanism, ethical leadership, scientific advancement, and people-centred governance.
The organisation said its formation was necessitated by what it termed systemic failure, economic stagnation, and worsening insecurity in the country.
According to the statement, the party envisions a Nigeria anchored on science, technology, and industrialisation, where innovation drives economic growth and leadership remains accountable to the people.
It outlined its economic priorities to include a shift from a consumption-driven economy to a production and innovation-based system, promotion of local manufacturing, and increased investment in research, technology, and youth entrepreneurship.
On security, the group raised concerns over the destruction of farmlands and the displacement of farming communities, stressing the need for urgent government intervention.
It called for the establishment of a legislative and policy framework to halt the destruction of agricultural assets, as well as stricter regulation of cattle movement across the country.
The party also advocated a transition to regulated ranching systems, insisting that livestock owners must take full responsibility for their operations.
The statement noted that the proposals were aimed at ensuring food security, economic stability, and national survival, while also restoring confidence in agriculture as a viable sector.
The alliance further called on Nigerians to join its platform, describing itself as “an ideologically grounded political party” committed to long-term national transformation rather than short-term political gains.
It urged citizens to reject corruption, political opportunism, and divisive tendencies, and instead embrace unity, discipline, innovation, and purposeful leadership.
The group’s National Publicity Secretary, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., in the statement, reiterated the party’s commitment to mobilising Nigerians towards what it described as national renewal.

The statement concluded with a call for collective responsibility in rebuilding the nation, expressing optimism that Nigeria could overcome its challenges through shared commitment and reforms.
