The management of Oasis Magazine has apologised to Mrs Ebizi Brown Ndiomu, the member representing Sagbama Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, over a report published on its online platform, oasismagazine.com.ng, on February 20, 2026.
The report, titled “Adulterous Conduct Modeling Around Loikpobiri over Deputy Office,” has now been formally withdrawn by the publication.
In a statement signed by the publisher, Daniel Dafe Umukoro, the magazine said the report, which was submitted by a contributor identified as Diepreye Bagou from Bayelsa State, did not meet the editorial standards of the media organisation.
Umukoro explained that the management only recently became aware of the publication and had since carried out a review of the matter.
According to him, the findings showed that the allegations contained in the report were unfounded and should not have been published.
“After conducting a thorough check on the lawmaker, we discovered that the report crossed the red line. Mrs Brown is a respected lawmaker and the allegations made against her are untrue and are hereby retracted,” he said.
The publisher further offered an unreserved apology to the lawmaker, expressing regret over any embarrassment the publication might have caused her and her associates.
He added that Oasis Magazine does not engage in blackmail or propaganda, describing the report as an editorial error.
Umukoro also assured that the media platform would strengthen its editorial processes to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in the future.
