The Online News Publishers Association has congratulated Hon. Babatunde Kolawole on his emergence as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State.
In a statement issued shortly after the party’s state congress, the association described Kolawole’s emergence as a testament to the confidence reposed in him by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, party leaders, stakeholders and members across the state.
The group noted that the new chairman’s political pedigree, strong grassroots appeal and longstanding commitment to party ideals place him in a strategic position to provide purposeful leadership for the party.
The association also commended Kolawole for what it described as his consistent support and collaboration with online media platforms over the years. It stated that his accessibility and appreciation of digital journalism had contributed to deepening democratic engagement and improving information dissemination within Ondo State.
According to the statement, his past patronage played a significant role in strengthening the operations and credibility of online news outlets in the state, facilitating prompt and accurate reportage of political and developmental issues.
As Kolawole assumes office, the association urged him to sustain and broaden his engagement with online publishers to enable effective projection of his vision and strategic direction for the party across the 18 local government areas of the state.
It stressed that in the evolving digital age, online platforms remain vital channels for grassroots mobilisation, transparency and wider public engagement.
The publishers expressed readiness to partner with the new chairman in amplifying party programmes, policies and achievements to a broader audience, expressing optimism that the party would witness renewed cohesion, strategic realignment and strengthened internal democracy under his leadership.
The association prayed for wisdom and fortitude for Kolawole as he takes charge of the party’s affairs in the state, reaffirming its commitment to responsible journalism and continued collaboration in advancing democratic governance and development in Ondo State.
