As the 2026 governorship race heats up in Adamawa State, communities in the southern region have rallied behind Dr. Salihu Bakari Girei, urging him to contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsement event took place at the main conference hall in Yola North Local Government Area, drawing stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters who pledged their backing for Dr. Girei’s political ambition.
Alhaji Hamman Kogoli, chairman of the gathering, said the meeting aimed to educate communities across the state about Dr. Girei’s vision, commitment, and development plans for Adamawa.
Speaking at the event, Jona Palta from Guyuk Local Government Area described the occasion as a critical opportunity for progress. He praised Dr. Girei’s grassroots leadership during his tenure as Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), highlighting the impactful projects delivered in rural communities.
Alhaji Shito Adamu from Shelleng Local Government Area added that Dr. Girei’s contributions have touched nearly every part of the state. He assured that supporters would return to their communities to mobilize wider backing, emphasizing the need for a new style of leadership focused on development.
A female participant from Ganye Local Government Area also expressed appreciation on behalf of the people, offering prayers for Dr. Girei’s success and pledging continued support for his political journey.
The gathering ended with a closing remark from Alhaji Hamman Kogoli, who thanked attendees for their presence and prayed for their safe return to their communities.
