2027: APC fixes dates for primaries, prices for nomination forms

The All Progressives Congress has announced the timetable for its 2027 general election primaries, fixing May 15 to May 23, 2026, for the exercise across elective positions.

The ruling party also released the cost of its nomination and expression of interest forms, with the presidential ticket pegged at N100m.

Details of the schedule, obtained on Monday, showed that the party would commence the process with the issuance of notice of election to state chapters on April 20, 2026.

The sale of forms is scheduled to hold between April 25 and May 2, while the deadline for submission of completed forms and relevant documents has been fixed for May 4.

Screening of aspirants is slated for May 6 to May 8, while the presidential screening will be conducted on May 9. The party is expected to publish the screening results on May 11, with appeals billed for May 12 and May 13.

According to the timetable, the presidential primary election will take place between May 15 and May 16. The House of Representatives primary is fixed for May 18, Senate on May 20, State House of Assembly on May 21, while governorship primaries will hold on May 23.

Appeals arising from the primaries will begin on May 18 and end on May 25.

A breakdown of the fees released by the party showed that the N100m presidential form comprises N30m for expression of interest and N70m for nomination.

Governorship aspirants are to pay N50m, while Senate hopefuls will pay N20m. The House of Representatives form costs N10m, while that of the State House of Assembly is pegged at N6m.

The party, however, granted concessions to certain categories of aspirants, stating that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities would only pay for expression of interest forms and 50 per cent of the nomination fees.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the APC said the timetable was part of its preparations for the 2027 elections.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Elections.
