An aspirant for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olugbemi Olugbolabo Ogunleye, has said his over two decades of political and administrative experience have prepared him to represent Akoko South-West Constituency II.
Ogunleye, in a statement on Thursday, said his involvement in party activities and governance processes since 1999 positioned him as a credible candidate for the legislative seat.
He noted that his political journey began with the Alliance for Democracy and later the Action Congress, where he said he contributed to building structures that shaped progressive politics in the country.
The aspirant also highlighted his roles in several political campaigns, including his participation in committees of the Rotimi Akeredolu campaign organisation in 2012, and the Akeredolu/Aiyedatiwa campaign in 2020.
He further stated that he served in various capacities during the 2022 presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress, handling logistics and welfare-related responsibilities.
Ogunleye added that he coordinated grassroots mobilisation efforts as National Coordinator of the Muhammadu Buhari Grassroots Mobilisation Network in 2019, noting that the role exposed him to community-level engagement and political organisation.
According to him, his administrative experience also includes serving as Ondo State Coordinator of the APC Aspirants Forum and holding national welfare and administrative positions within party structures.
“I have garnered experience in different aspects of governance, from mobilisation to administration and policy coordination. These exposures have equipped me with the capacity to contribute effectively from day one,” he said.
He added that his priority, if elected, would be to promote unity within the constituency, facilitate development projects and ensure effective legislative representation.
Ogunleye urged constituents to support his aspiration, pledging to leverage his experience to deliver quality representation and attract development to the area.
