A fresh wave of political agitation has emerged in the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency of Ondo State, as stakeholders, party leaders and socio-political groups insist that the House of Representatives seat should remain in Ose Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The demand, which has gained traction across a series of consultations and political engagements, is being driven by calls for equity, balance and sustained party cohesion within the constituency.
Proponents of the position argue that the agitation is not about individual ambition but rooted in the need to uphold fairness in the zoning arrangement guiding political offices in the area.
They noted that although Ose currently occupies the seat, a broader assessment of political appointments shows that Owo Local Government dominates key executive and strategic positions within the state’s political structure.
According to the stakeholders, allowing the National Assembly seat to shift from Ose under the present circumstances would aggravate existing imbalances and undermine inclusiveness.
