Massive crowd as Akoko youths, students endorse Ehindero for second term

Thousands of youths and students from Akoko North East and Akoko North West Federal Constituency, Ondo State, on Saturday staged a solidarity march in Ikare-Akoko in support of the lawmaker representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Ifeoluwa Ehindero.

The rally, which attracted youth and student leaders from across the constituency, provided a platform for participants to commend the lawmaker’s performance and highlight what they described as measurable achievements within his two years in office.

Convener of the event, Seun Aruwajoye, said the endorsement was informed by what he termed “people-focused and visible accomplishments” recorded by Ehindero. He noted that several youths in the constituency had secured employment opportunities in federal and state establishments through the lawmaker’s efforts, alongside access to scholarship schemes and empowerment programmes.

In his remarks, the President of Akoko North East Youth Forum, Raji Kazeem, cautioned against what he described as unnecessary political changes. He said the lawmaker’s performance had provided a level of consistency that should not be disrupted, adding that replacing a performing representative could create uncertainty.

Similarly, the President of Akoko North West Youth Forum, Ademoye Emmanuel, commended Ehindero for prioritising youth development. He described the lawmaker as a strong voice for young people in governance, noting that several campaign promises had been fulfilled within a relatively short time.

Also speaking, Senate President of Akoko Students, Balogun Tomiwa, lauded the lawmaker’s interventions in the education sector. He cited the distribution of free UTME forms and the organisation of tutorial programmes for students across the constituency.

He further praised Ehindero’s role as Chairman of the House Committee on Student Loans, particularly his oversight in ensuring the implementation of the student loan scheme.

Another youth leader, Aiyejuyo Temitayo, listed several projects attributed to the lawmaker, including job facilitation, scholarship opportunities both within and outside Nigeria, and youth empowerment initiatives.

He added that the lawmaker had also contributed to infrastructural development in the education sector through the construction of classroom blocks in parts of the constituency.

The youths, at the end of the rally, pledged sustained support for Ehindero, describing him as a responsive and result-oriented representative.
