The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit following a recent adjustment in depot prices by Dangote Refinery.
Findings on Thursday showed that NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja raised petrol prices to ₦1,364 per litre from ₦1,295, representing an increase of ₦69.
The new price was observed at several stations, including those located in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6 and Zone 4.
An attendant at one of the outlets confirmed the development, saying, “We adjusted our pump price to ₦1,364 per litre this morning from ₦1,295.”
Other marketers, including MRS and BOVAS filling stations, also reviewed their prices upward, selling between ₦1,365 and ₦1,370 per litre.
The latest adjustment followed Dangote Refinery’s decision on Wednesday to increase its gantry price by ₦75, raising it from ₦1,200 to ₦1,275 per litre.
Industry players attributed the hike to rising global crude oil prices, which recently climbed above $115 per barrel, further impacting domestic fuel costs.
