The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a woman, Adetutu Aderibigbe, by suspected gunmen in the Bolumole area off Ring Road in Ibadan.
Police spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, said in a statement on Wednesday that the incident occurred at about 6:00 p.m.

Olayinka said the attackers ambushed her at the gate of her house and whisked her away at gunpoint in an unregistered black Lexus vehicle.
He said, “Contrary to reports circulating in the media, the victim was not attacked on the road. Findings so far show she was followed to her residence by her abductors.”
The police spokesperson added that a family member who was present at the scene was unharmed during the incident.
He further stated that detectives and tactical teams had been deployed to the area immediately after the case was reported.
According to him, “The scene has been processed for forensic evidence, while intelligence-led operations have been intensified to track down the suspects and secure the safe rescue of the victim.”
Olayinka assured that all necessary resources were being mobilised to ensure the victim’s release and the arrest of those responsible for the abduction.
