The Police Service Commission has scheduled April 28 to 30, 2026, for the written examination of candidates seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as constables.
The commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday by its Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Mr Torty Njoku Kalu.
According to the statement, the examination will be conducted in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
It added that only applicants who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening would be eligible to participate in the examination.
The commission advised qualified candidates to access the recruitment portal from Friday, April 24, 2026, to print their examination invitation slips, which contain details of the date, time and venue of the test.
“The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has fixed 28-30 April 2026 for the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as Police Constables (for both General Duty and Specialist applicants). The exercise will take place at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“Only candidates who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening are eligible. Qualified applicants are to log on to http://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng from Friday 24 April 2026 to print their Examination Invitation Card, which indicates the specific date, time and venue of their test,” the statement read.
The PSC also outlined requirements for the examination, stating that candidates must come along with a pen, their National Identification Number slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission bearing a clear photograph, and a printed copy of their invitation card.
It further specified the dress code for the exercise as white shorts, white T-shirt and white canvas.
“Required items on exam day: 1. A pen 2. National Identification Number (NIN) Slip from NIMC (with clear photograph) 3. Printed Examination Invitation Card 4. Dress Code: White shorts, white T-shirt and white canvas,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent recruitment process, the commission warned applicants to avoid fraudsters, stressing that the exercise is free of charge.
“The Police Service Commission reiterates that the recruitment process is entirely free and warns that any form of job racketeering, scams, or financial inducement will be met with the full force of the law,” it stated.
The commission urged candidates to rely solely on official communication channels for updates regarding the recruitment exercise.
