A 37-year-old Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, Ademola Oke, has been found dead at his workplace, marking the third such incident involving Nigerians in the country this month.
The tragic development was disclosed through an online fundraising appeal initiated by a family friend, Adejonwo Odutola, on the platform GoFundMe.
According to the appeal, the incident occurred on April 18, 2026, after the deceased reportedly left home in good health and maintained regular communication with his wife throughout the day.
Odutola stated that there were no signs of illness prior to the incident, noting that Oke had exchanged messages with his wife earlier in the day.
He explained that the deceased was later discovered unresponsive at his workplace by a colleague who arrived for a night shift.
Emergency services were said to have been contacted immediately, but Oke was confirmed dead at the scene.
The sudden death has left his 31-year-old wife devastated, with the responsibility of caring for their two young children, aged six and two.
Describing the deceased as a devoted husband and father, Odutola said the loss had dealt a heavy blow to the family and close associates.
He noted that the fundraising initiative was aimed at supporting funeral arrangements and providing financial relief for the children.
The appeal called on Nigerians in the diaspora and the general public to assist the bereaved family, adding that contributions of any amount would be appreciated.
It also urged those unable to donate to share the appeal to reach a wider audience during the difficult period.
As of the time of filing this report, £4,509 had been raised out of the £8,000 target.
The incident adds to a growing number of reported deaths involving Nigerians in the United Kingdom in April.
