The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State, Ahmed Galadima Aminu, has condemned the recent attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Zah and Kingin communities in Hong Local Government Area of the state.
Galadima, in a statement issued on Saturday through his TAG 2027 Campaign Organisation, described the attack, which reportedly claimed the lives of two residents and a soldier, as tragic and unacceptable.
The APC candidate lamented the killing of innocent civilians and a military personnel, describing the incident as “one death too many.”
“This unfortunate incident occurred despite ongoing efforts by both the Adamawa State Government under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Federal Government to tackle insecurity. We must not allow acts of terror to dampen our collective resolve,” he stated.
Galadima sympathised with the bereaved families, the affected communities, the Adamawa State Government and the Nigerian military over the attack.
He also urged security agencies to intensify operations aimed at flushing out insurgents and other criminal elements threatening peace in the state.
The governorship hopeful further appealed to residents to support security agencies with credible and timely information capable of aiding ongoing security operations.
“Security is a collective responsibility. While our gallant troops continue to make sacrifices to defend the nation, communities must also cooperate with security agencies and avoid any form of collaboration with criminal elements,” he added.
Galadima prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed and asked God to grant their families the strength to bear the loss.
