A reconciliation meeting convened by the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has resolved the lingering political tension within the All Progressives Congress in Ondo Kingdom, with stakeholders endorsing the return of serving lawmakers ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The resolution was contained in a communiqué issued by HAM Volunteers, Ondo Chapter, following a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure on April 30, 2026.
According to the group, the intervention by the governor helped to restore calm, strengthen party unity and address disagreements arising from the party’s ticket allocation process in Ondo East and Ondo West local government areas.
The communiqué stated that party leaders and stakeholders unanimously affirmed the candidacies of Hon. Abiola Makinde for the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji for Ondo East State Constituency, Hon. Ogunwumiju Moyinolorun for Ondo West Constituency I and Hon. Biola Oladapo for Ondo West Constituency II.
It noted that the governor, during the meeting, appealed to aspirants who failed to secure the party’s tickets to accept the outcome in the interest of party unity and remain loyal to the APC.
Aiyedatiwa was quoted as assuring aggrieved aspirants that the party remained large enough to accommodate everyone and urged them to exercise patience and commitment to the party structure.
HAM Volunteers, in the communiqué signed by its Media Manager, Comrade Ayorinde Adetula, called on party members and supporters to shun division and work collectively for the success of all APC candidates in the coming elections.
The group warned that internal wrangling and unresolved grievances could weaken the party’s chances and give room for opposition parties to gain political advantage.
It explained that the reconciliation move was aimed at promoting inclusiveness, sustaining peace and consolidating unity within the APC family in Ondo Kingdom.
The group also commended Aiyedatiwa for what it described as his exemplary leadership and commitment to peace and stability within the ruling party.
HAM Volunteers further lauded prominent party elders and leaders in Ondo Kingdom for their roles in facilitating the peaceful resolution of the crisis.
Among those commended were Mama Aserere, Hon. Olabisi Johnson, Hon. Wale Akinlosotu, Dr. Eniola, Hon. Ijaya, Engr. Ayorinde Olawoye, Dr. Akinola Obama, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, Hon. Onidare Sunday Bunmi, local government chairmen and party executives in Ondo East and West councils, among others.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to the ideals of unity, progress and party supremacy within the APC.
