Akoko APC stakeholders endorse leading aspirant, Murphy Tosin for Reps seat, demand credible primaries

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Akoko North West Constituency 2, Ondo State, have passed a vote of confidence in an aspirant for the House of Representatives, Moruf Tosin, popularly known as Hon. Murphy, ahead of the party’s forthcoming primaries.

The party leaders also endorsed Murphy as their preferred candidate for the Akoko North Federal Constituency seat, describing him as a grassroots politician with the capacity to provide quality representation.

The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ogbagi Akoko, which attracted party elders, youth representatives, women leaders and APC loyalists from across the constituency.

Speaking at the gathering, the stakeholders commended Murphy’s leadership style, accessibility and commitment to community development, noting that he had remained connected to the people over the years.

They said his aspiration symbolised a new phase of purposeful leadership capable of addressing the challenges confronting the constituency at the national level.

The stakeholders also appealed to the national leadership of the APC to ensure that the party’s primaries were conducted in a transparent, credible and peaceful manner.

According to them, a free and fair primary process would strengthen internal democracy within the party and improve its chances in future elections.

The meeting further resolved that Murphy possessed the integrity, competence and political experience required to effectively represent the people of Akoko North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Responding to the endorsement, Murphy appreciated the stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and pledged not to disappoint the people if elected.

He promised to prioritise inclusive representation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and improved opportunities for women across the constituency.

The endorsement is believed to have strengthened Murphy’s political momentum within the APC structure in Ondo State ahead of the primaries.
