Traditional rulers, youths and market women in Okeagbe Akoko, Ondo State, on Friday celebrated the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, while declaring support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Leading the endorsement, the Ajana of Afa, Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Arasanyi, urged residents to unite behind the Tinubu administration, describing Tunji-Ojo as a blessing to the community.
The monarch commended the President for appointing the minister, noting that the gesture had brought recognition and opportunity to the area. He added that traditional rulers within the Okeagbe Kingdom had collectively resolved to back Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Arasanyi spoke while receiving a group of youths under the aegis of Okeagbe United Vanguard, led by their coordinator, Olabode, who visited his palace as part of activities marking the minister’s birthday.
Earlier, the youths had staged a solidarity walk across the community in honour of Tunji-Ojo. They also paid homage to other monarchs, including the Owa Oge of Oge Oke-Agbe, Oba Alex Jimoh; the Ewi of Aje Oke-Agbe, Oba Oloruntoba Bello; and the Oludo of Ido Oke-Agbe, Oba Samuel Adedeji, where prayers were offered for the celebrant.
At the various palaces, the traditional rulers echoed support for both the minister and the President, aligning with the position of the Ajana of Afa.
The youths later moved to the community market, where they were received by the Iyalojas.
Speaking on behalf of the traders, Chief (Mrs.) Christiana Jolaiya described Tunji-Ojo as a distinguished son worthy of continued support and prayers.
The market women celebrated the minister with songs and dance, offering prayers for his success, while also receiving gifts presented by the visiting youths.
Representing the minister at the event, Hon. Fafunmilade Adetileewa expressed appreciation for the show of solidarity, assuring the gathering that Tunji-Ojo would continue to justify the confidence reposed in him.
