The Progressive Governors Forum has reportedly split into rival camps following an internal leadership crisis involving some governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The development followed reports that the chairman of the forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, was removed during a meeting held on Thursday.
Despite the alleged move, Uzodimma was said to have maintained that he remained the authentic chairman of the forum.
However, another faction within the group has reportedly rallied around Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.
Sources within the ruling party disclosed that more governors had aligned with the Abiodun-AbdulRazaq camp, further widening the crack within the influential body.
The reported division comes amid growing political consultations and power realignments within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to reports, disagreements over leadership control and strategic positioning had been building within the forum in recent weeks.
Although details surrounding the crisis were still unclear as of press time, party insiders described the situation as a major internal challenge capable of affecting cohesion among APC governors.
Neither of the rival camps had officially issued a statement explaining the circumstances that led to the split at the time this report was filed.
