Residents of Okeirun/Surulere Ward 7 in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday declared support for an aspirant seeking election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Morufu Tosin Ibrahim, popularly known as Murphy.
The endorsement came as the aspirant’s campaign team visited the ward to mobilise support ahead of the party’s primary election.
Speaking during the meeting, the Director-General of the campaign organisation, Hon. Orojo, who represented Murphy, urged residents of the community to unite behind the aspirant, describing him as a worthy son of the soil.
He said the people of Irun should ensure Murphy emerges victorious, stressing that the community had a reputation for producing respected personalities.
According to him, the aspiration of Murphy represents the collective interest of the people of the ward and should be supported wholeheartedly.
Also speaking, a former councillor from the ward, Hon. Aiku Salami, assured the campaign team of the community’s backing, saying the people were prepared to stand firmly behind Murphy during the election.
He described the aspirant as a committed party loyalist and expressed confidence in his chances at the polls.
Other stakeholders and supporters at the gathering also pledged support for Murphy, promising to mobilise voters across the ward in his favour.
They maintained that the community remained united in its resolve to ensure the aspirant secures victory during the party’s selection process.
