The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Kolawole Babatunde, has urged party members across the state to mobilise massively and deliver overwhelming votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Saturday’s presidential primary election.
Babatunde, in a statement issued on Friday, appealed to APC faithful in the 18 local government areas of the state to actively participate in the exercise and demonstrate loyalty to the ruling party.
He described Tinubu as a progressive leader whose administration had continued to implement policies and projects aimed at transforming the country’s economy and infrastructure.
The APC chairman stated that support for the President during the primary election would further strengthen the “One Million Votes” agenda earlier declared by the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to him, Ondo State has benefitted significantly from the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda through ongoing infrastructural projects and economic initiatives.
Babatunde listed some of the projects to include the coastal highway project passing through the Ilaje axis of Ondo State, the dualisation of the Ore-Akure Road, reconstruction works on the Akure-Ado Ekiti Road and the ongoing construction on the Akure-Benin Expressway.
He said the projects reflected the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation and economic development in the South-West region and the country at large.
The APC chairman also commended the Tinubu administration for initiatives targeted at youth empowerment, job creation, educational reforms and social intervention programmes.
He maintained that the APC remained the largest political party in Africa, built on the principles of progressive governance, unity and inclusive leadership.
“The time has come for party members to once again demonstrate unity, commitment and unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu and the APC,” Babatunde said.
He, however, urged party leaders, youths, women groups and stakeholders across the wards to conduct themselves peacefully and ensure a successful exercise.
