Relief for Ondo job seekers as Aiyedatiwa to regularise affected SUBEB recruitment applicants

Gov. Aiyedatiwa

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has assured candidates affected by irregularities in last year’s primary school recruitment exercise that their appointments will be regularised and formally integrated into the system.

The recruitment exercise was conducted by the State Universal Basic Education Board.

The governor gave the assurance on Friday during the May Day celebration held at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade, where he acknowledged complaints from applicants who either received fake employment letters or were not captured in the recruitment database.

Aiyedatiwa reiterated his administration’s commitment to resolving the issue, stating that all affected candidates would be properly absorbed through a transparent process that ensures due documentation and official inclusion.

He emphasised that the regularisation would strictly follow laid-down procedures to prevent further anomalies.

In a related development, the Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, Dr Abike Bayo-Ilawole, directed the affected applicants to report at the board’s office on Monday, assuring them that due process would be adhered to in finalising their recruitment and documentation.

The announcement sparked emotional reactions among the applicants, many of whom expressed gratitude, with some prostrating and others visibly overwhelmed as they appreciated the governor’s intervention.
