Academic and administrative activities have fully resumed at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic following the resolution of industrial disputes involving staff unions at the institution.
The management of the polytechnic disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by the institution’s Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol.
According to the statement, the restoration of peace followed a series of engagements between the management, labour unions and other relevant stakeholders aimed at resolving issues that led to the industrial actions.
The institution, under the leadership of the Acting Rector, Olorunwa Sunday Lawson, expressed appreciation to staff members, students and stakeholders for their patience and cooperation during the period of the disruption.
The management also commended all parties involved in the negotiations for embracing dialogue and mutual understanding in the interest of institutional stability.
It assured workers that payment of the new minimum wage would commence immediately after government approval for its implementation is received.
The statement urged members of staff to remain committed to their responsibilities, while advising students to focus on their academic activities.
The management reiterated its commitment to maintaining industrial harmony and ensuring continuous progress within the institution.
