The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Mark, has urged party members and supporters to remain calm over a recent Federal High Court judgment affecting the party’s status.
He described the ruling delivered by Justice Peter Lifu in Abuja as a serious threat to democratic practice, stressing that it would not stand the test of law.
Mark spoke on Monday while receiving the party’s candidates in Abuja, where he reassured them that the matter was already heading for a superior judicial review.
He noted that the Court of Appeal had earlier issued a stay of proceedings in the case and adjourned further hearing, questioning the validity of the subsequent decision.
According to him, the development amounted to a breach of due process, adding that no court order should override a subsisting appellate directive.
He assured supporters nationwide that the party remained firmly on course, insisting that ADC would fully participate in the 2027 general elections.
The chairman maintained that the judgment was only a temporary setback, promising that it would be set aside through lawful judicial channels.
In a statement signed by Kola Ologbondiyan, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the party reaffirmed its commitment to democratic principles and urged members to remain focused.
