A suspected bandit commander, Kachalla Maha, has declared that he is capable of abducting a serving state governor, while alleging that he receives confidential information on security operations before they are carried out.
The claim was contained in an audio recording that surfaced online on Sunday and was shared by a verified X user, Abdool Moh.
In the recording, Maha accused government authorities of ignoring his demands for the release of some detained members of his group and cattle allegedly seized during security operations.
According to him, the refusal to free his associates has strengthened his resolve to continue launching attacks, insisting that he has no intention of ending his violent activities.
"I demanded the release of my men after they were arrested, but nothing was done. Since then, I have resolved to abduct more people, and I already know those I will target," he said.
The bandit leader further boasted that no level of military deployment could force him to retreat, claiming he had the means to kidnap highly placed public office holders, including governors.
Maha also alleged that individuals within the security system secretly provide him with intelligence on planned operations, enabling him to evade attacks and monitor government security strategies.
There was no official reaction from security agencies or the Federal Government to the claims in the viral audio as of the time this report was filed.
