FEDPOLEL Pioneer Rector bags chieftaincy title at Ile-Oluji monarch’s anniversary

A delegation from the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, joined eminent personalities and traditional rulers on Saturday to celebrate the 10th coronation anniversary of the Jegun Olu-Ekun and Paramount Ruler of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, Oba Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Jimoko II.

The grand finale of the anniversary celebration took place at the Civic Centre in Ile-Oluji and attracted prominent guests from across the state and beyond.

Among dignitaries present at the event was the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olayide Adelami, alongside several traditional rulers, community leaders and distinguished sons and daughters of the kingdom.

A major attraction of the celebration was the conferment of honorary chieftaincy titles on individuals recognised for their contributions to the development of the kingdom and society.

One of the recipients was the pioneer Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Prof. Emmanuel Adedayo Fasakin, who served between 2015 and 2023. He was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Bobajiro Eko of Ile-Oluji Kingdom.

The institution’s delegation attended the event in solidarity with the revered monarch and to celebrate the recognition accorded its former rector.

Leading the delegation was the Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Barr. Mercy Ademubowale Adelabu. Other principal officers present included the Rector, Dr Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku; the Deputy Rector, Dr Samson Adehuga Omogbehin; the Bursar, Mr Sehinde Ebenezer Olabode; and the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr Fasa Rachael Aladeniyi.

Also in attendance were the Director of Physical Planning, Tpl. Adewale Victor Tobashe; the Director of Research, Development and Innovation, Dr Olanrewaju Victor Johnson; the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Dr Ademola Adewumi; and the Deputy Registrar in charge of Information, Protocol and Passages, Mr Sanmi Enigbokan.

Others were the Head of the Business Administration and Management Department, Mrs Kudirat Folorunso; the Senior Assistant Registrar in the Rector’s Office, Mr Festus Ogunruku; the Head of Legal Unit, Barr. Adebimpe Adewoye; as well as other members of staff of the institution.

The event featured cultural displays, goodwill messages and tributes celebrating the monarch’s decade-long reign, which guests described as a period of peace, growth and development in Ile-Oluji Kingdom.
